You Don't Want this Work!

It’s Friday. It’s time to finish up another payroll. You really don’t want to be doing this payroll work. Quarterlies are a pain in the rear. 

You do it because you are the boss. This is boss’s work. It has to be done right. You need to know what money is going out the door. You like keeping an eye on payroll and the best way is to just do it yourself. You also want to keep the pay rates confidential. 

It has to be done right, and it has to be done in private, but does it have to be done by you? This is not the type of work you should be doing! And you should not make your spouse do it either.

As the owner of a business, your primary job should be delighting your customers, growing sales, knowing your costs, inventing new procedures, streamlining your operations, etc. Calculating net pays and printing checks is not being productive for you as the owner, it’s that simple.
